Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix will release a "full" version in early 2020, but we can test it first

Ubuntu Cinnamon

It seems that the path that will lead us to enjoy a new flavor of Ubuntu does not have too many stones in the way. That is the first thing I have thought when reading the latest tweets from the Ubuntu Cinnamon account, an operating system that has not yet seen the light and that, when it does, it will do so under the name of Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix. Apparently, it will do so sooner than expected, at least in a version that will help us to get an idea of what the cinnamon-flavored Ubuntu will be like.

Itsswirlz, the founder of the project, says that the trial version of the operating system he is preparing will arrive before Ubuntu 19.10 Eoan Ermine, which means that we will be able to "taste" it in less than three weeks. Taking into account that the "full" version will be released three to four months later, we can think that what we will be able to test in about 15 days will be like a Daily Build, not so much for its daily updates as for its point in the development phase. .

Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix is coming in January

Hello. I am ItzSwirlz, the project manager. I just wanted to leave some updates behind the curtains. We will have a test version ready before the release of 19.10 Eoan Ermine (unless we have a problem, which is not likely to happen, thanks to the help of Ubuntu Budgie).

Whoever is helping to make everything go a little faster is being the last to officially reach the Ubuntu family, that is, the team of Ubuntu Budgie. With your help, the founder of the Ubuntu Cinnamon project says that there will be a "full" version of his operating system by mid-February at the latest, which we understand to mean that there will be a stable version in three to four months.

As for their web page, it seems that we will be able to see it after seeing the operating system, since they have been marked as a goal that it is available on Halloween. There will be some blank spaces until the Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix trial version is released, and I have to admit that at this point I am lost: if they have the trial version before Eoan Ermine (October 17), this should arrive before they open the web (November 1), right?

In any case, they recognize that they still have a lot of work ahead of them and it is worth our patience. I think at best there will be a worthwhile version in April 2020 and will not become an official flavor until 6 months or a year then. No matter what it takes, we will inform you as soon as the trial version is released.

I love the Cinnamon desktop and although in Linux Mint it performs very well and does not give any errors, it will not be too much to try it directly in Ubuntu without installing a PPA and directly in the Linux Mint Base,… .. Good for the guys from Ubuntu, to keep growing the family
