After a series of announcements from both Samsung and Canonical, they have finally decided to do the Ubuntu Core release for Samsung ARTIK 5 and 10. And it is that for a couple of days, the Ubuntu Core images are already available for the Samsung IOT platform.

This image gives access to a large number of Samsung ARTIK functionalities, plus Bluetooh, Wi-Fi and a great platform for the developer to implement their next applications.

For those of you who do not know that Ubuntu ARTIK is, it is nothing more than Samsung's IOT (Internet Of Things) platform. This is a platform that completely transforms the deployment, launch and management process of IOT products, through a series of Cloud Computing tools, or a wide range of technologies that can make the development process much faster, more effective and more dynamic.

And for those who do not know what all this Internet Of Things is, this is nothing more than a physical object network, such as our car, our devices, and other everyday items. Therefore, the intention of Internet Of Things technology, as the name already advances, is to be able to interconnect everyday elements with each other through boards, software, sensors, and networks between them that allow communication.

With the emergence of Cloud Computing, Internet Of Things, and all these new technologies based on the already known cloud, has arisen (or arose) the need to develop "A new Ubuntu" totally updated and oriented to this technology. So from what we can see, this new association of Ubuntu Core and Samsung ARTIK, does nothing more than affirm that Ubuntu and Free Software is increasingly present in the technology that surrounds us.
