VoyagerLinux It is a French distro based on Xubuntu and as such its characteristic is the use of the XFCE desktop environment, its appearance is based on that of Manjaro Linux, giving it an excellent graphic and fluid appearance.
The Voyager philosophy is based on offering a wide range of options for different people that they would not have the same practices. So that everyone then has the complete freedom to remove or leave what suits them according to their needs.
Voyager Linux Features
Today the distro is on its version 16.04.3, this new version that was officially released a few weeks ago has:
- Linux kernel 4.10
- Xfce 4.12.3 Desktop Environment
- Plank Dock 0.11
- Screenlet 0.1.6
- Covergloobus 1.7.3
- LibreOffice 5.4
- Mozilla Firefox 55
- Mozilla Thunderbird 52.2
- Core Bird 1.1.1
- ClamTk 5.2.4.1.
This new version of Voyager Linux will be supported for three years, until 2019.
The system ISO is approximately 1.5 GB so you can burn it on DVD or install it on a USB memory to later proceed to install it on your computer.
It should also be noted that in addition to the version it has based on Xubuntu, have developed two other one of them based directly on Debian y another specially created for gamersThis last one is very interesting, where I will possibly be talking about it later.
Although this distro still has a lot to polish, the truth is that it has very good and quite attractive features.
Requirements to install Voyager Linux
What is necessary to be able to run Voyager without complications on our computer, at least we must have:
- Dual Core Processor
2GB of RAM
16GB hard drive
A graphics card with a minimum resolution of 1024 x 1280 pixels.
