Firefox 73 introduces a new option to configure a global zoom for all web pages

General zoom in Firefox 73

The most up-to-date stable version of Mozilla's browser is Firefox 71.0, but there are at least two with higher numbers. I'm talking about the beta (72) and the Nightly (73), two options that allow us to see what is coming to the fox browser. In general, Mozilla does not publish in an official medium the news that will arrive with the new version until it reaches the beta, but we can surf the net and find out about some things. In this article we will talk about a novelty that will come to Firefox 73.

So far, something that also happens in Firefox 72 beta, we can change the zoom of the web pages, but we have to do it separately. Starting with Firefox 73, an option will be included that will change the zoom to all web pages by default, something that can come especially well in cases like the old laptop of a server, which has a lower resolution and looks too large by default. This will no longer be a problem as of fox browser v73.

Firefox 73 will arrive on February 11

The possibility of changing the zoom of a web page in Firefox has been available since 2009. On the other hand, the browser allows us to shows in the URL bar if we have modified the zoom level, something that was introduced in 2016 by Firefox 51. Right now, if we want all web pages to have the same zoom level we have to use third-party solutions, such as the one offered by the addon fixed-zoom, but this will change in less than two months.

The option is now available from the preferences page Firefox 73. To avoid confusion, the screenshot included in this article is as is so you can see where the option appears. The only thing we have to do so that all the pages have the same zoom level is to modify the value. If we check the box, which is currently in English and says "Zoom text only", the only thing that will change will be the size of the text, leaving other components such as images at their original size.

Firefox 73 will be officially released on January 11. If we pay attention to what Mozilla says on the Firefox Nightly page, we should not rule out the possibility that they will go back and not launch the function, but this is something unlikely because it is something that cannot harm the user experience. In any case, the news should come sooner rather than later.

It seems more important to me that I put something that adapts to the resolution of each monitor, because if I see the letters well, because I have to enlarge letters and images, not only the format of the page, or only the size of lyrics and not images, etc.
Leaving black or white bands on the sides is wasted
