The GNOME circle initiative is being positive for everyone. The end user ends up with more new apps of all kinds, developers can share their work and GNOME has more to offer. This week, the project has welcomed Cartridges, which is a kind of organizer so that we can access all our games from the same application, regardless of the platform it is on, as long as it is supported by the application.
This week there has been quite a bit of movement in GNOME. In addition to becoming part of the circle, Cartridges has been updated to v1.5, there have been more news in libadwaita and also in official applications of the project, such as Calendar. This week in GNOME
First of all, GNOME invites us to join them at GNOME Latam 2023 that is taking place between yesterday and today. It is a two-day event that celebrates the Latin GNOME community. Enlace.
- libadwaita has been given the necessary to include AdwNavigationView, which is a Widget that implements page navigation with a more user-friendly API than AdwLeaflet, which it is expected to replace in the future.
- Calendar has received a small cosmetic upgrade on top of new widgets provided by libadwaita. Now displays an improved offset bar and views have a consistent image.
- Cartridges, which has become part of the circle, has released its v1.5. Extra Steam libraries are now automatically detected and added, executables are passed directly to the shell, allowing for more complex arguments, and many cosmetic improvements have been added.
- amberol 0.10.3 has introduced two patches: the slingshot for short songs is now a proper size, and the landscape art no longer shrinks.
- IPlan 1.2.0 has arrived with:
- Task window containing information about tasks, subtasks, and logs.
- Translation into Persian and Turkish languages.
- New toast message to go back a task from the list of tasks done.
- Users can now choose emojis for their projects in the edit window.
- Projects and tasks can now have descriptions.
- Imaginer 0.2.2 now has the ability to use stable broadcast to run locally. In addition, it now allows you to customize the file name and some bugs have been fixed.
- Bavarder 0.2.3 has arrived offering the ability to use a custom model that allows us to use either a model that runs on our machine or a custom API that the model provides. Also, the loading mechanism is now faster and some bugs have been fixed.
- Halftone is a new application for lossless image compression using quantization and dithering techniques. It also allows you to convert images to pixel-art mode.
- This week ts-for-gir 3.0.0 has arrived. This is a tool for generating TypeScript-like definitions for GJS and GObject Introspection. Support for NPM packages has been added in this version.
- Contrast now supports multi-window.
- Tube Converter v2023.5.0 has improved its backend to make it much more stable. Additionally, this version includes:
- Added per-download option to crop a video thumbnail as a square. the ability to stop all downloads, the ability to retry all failed downloads, and the ability to clear queued downloads.
- When downloading a video, the quality options will be the specific resolutions of the video instead of Best, Good, Worst.
- Fixed an issue that prevented stopping and retrying some downloads.
- Fixed an issue where some users were experiencing random crashes while downloading.
- Updated translations.
- Pods 1.2.0 has arrived with:
- Usability and user experience have been improved in many aspects.
- Now it is possible to prune containers and capsules.
- Container terminals are now removable and can be used in parallel.
- Images can be sent to a registry.
- CPU utilization now takes into account the number of cores.
- Denaro 2023.5.0:
- Fixed an issue where Denaro would crash on systems with unconfigured locales.
- Fixed an issue where PDF export would fail for accounts with many receipts.
- Fixed an issue where a group's filter would be reactivated when a transaction was added to that group.
- Error messages will be displayed if Denaro tries to access inaccessible files instead of crashing.
- Updated translations.
