KDE Gear 22.04.3 arrives with the latest fixes for the April 2022 KDE App Suite

KDE Gear 22.04.3

Today Thursday, and after the v22.04.2was scheduled to arrive KDE Gear 22.04.3, which is the last maintenance update for the KDE set of apps for April 2022. As such, it has arrived to correct the latest bugs that have been detected in the last three months. The next patches, and new features, will arrive as early as August, when the project releases 22.08.

KDE announced availability this noon, earlier than expected, although the truth is that it does not have an exact time to launch the applications as, more or less, they do have it for the new versions of Plasma (around 14:XNUMX p.m. in Spain). The change list it is not very extensive, but it collects patches for many of its applications. In total, they have been introduced 63 changes, keeping more than a third of the video editor Kdenlive (24). They have also added many patches to Konsole (15), KDE's terminal emulator. Between the two of them they have accounted for more than half of the bugs they have fixed in KDE Gear 22.04.3.

KDE Gear 22.04.3 will usher in the August suite of apps

The rest of the apps, such as Elisa, Kalarm or Okular, have seen how a bug or two, three at most, have been corrected. This can only mean two things: either the April app set is already in very good shape or that they have not found any more faults. The first would be the best, since there are operating systems that do not update KDE apps until a new release (Kubuntu 22.04 stayed in Gear 21.12.3).

The next one will already be KDE Gear 22.08.0, a August version coming with new features. In addition, bugs will continue to be corrected, and I would bet because Kdenlive returns to keep a couple of dozen of the patches at least. This latest point update to the April app suite was announced this afternoon, and will soon be coming to KDE neon, the Backports repository, and the Rolling Release distributions.
