Linux Mint 19.2 already has a release date: later this week

Linux Mint 19.2

The monthly note published today by Clement Lefebvre on the operating system he develops has not been as long as on other occasions. This time we can not read new features, or personal impressions like some of the past that scared the community or practically anything ... but it has revealed something better: Linux Mint 19.2 "Tina" will be released later this week, although he has not mentioned the exact day on which the launch will occur.

Like v19.1 «Tessa», «Tina» it will be an LTS version which will be supported until 2023. Also like "Tessa", the next version of one of the most popular Ubuntu-based distros is based on Ubuntu 18.04, the latest LTS version of the operating system developed by Canonical. This means that it is based on a more stable version than Disco Dingo, but also that it does not include the latest news that was included in April of this year.

Linux Mint 19.2 will be an LTS version

So and how we explain On the day they released the beta for "Tina", the next version of Linux Mint will arrive with exciting new features such as latest versions of Cinnamon, Mate and Xfce, improved Mint tools, many improvements in the Cinnamon version, performance improvements, and an updated user interface.

Eventually, before the official release of "Tina", Lefebvre will post the correct way to update for Linux Mint 19 and 19.1 users. In past versions, it has been possible to update by following these steps:

  1. We open the update manager.
  2. We click on the "Refresh" button.
  3. We apply the available updates.
  4. We click on the "Edit / Update to Linux Mint 19.x" menu.
  5. We follow the instructions that appear on the screen.

It is more than likely that the previous system also works to upgrade to «Tina». If there is any change in this regard, Lefebvre will publish it from Thursday. Do you want to install Linux Mint 19.2 on your PC?

Evidently. Linux Mint Cinnamon I find it great. It is ideal for the newcomer to Gnu Linux. Its ease of use, stability and similarity to Windows make it the ideal distro for newbies. Perhaps the only one, but it is that visually it is not very attractive, in this sense it needs a new "face lift" (although the colors are about taste).

I did not dare to upgrade from Sarah to linux mint 18.3 Sylvia, and I would like to know if it is as stable and good as the first one since I am very happy with Linux Mint.
Thanks to everyone who makes the OS possible

Wow, I'm going to have a chance to upgrade from Linux Mint 19.1 to 19.2 for the Cinnamon and Xfce desktops. As I deal with distros so much if I already have a very 'dirty' installation, I prefer to do a clean installation. It has not been a coincidence, I have tried to be careful to try to update one version with the next.
