In the next article we are going to take a look at Logseq. This is an open source application that works primarily with Markdown files. Logseq is inspired by Roam Research, Org Mode, Tiddlywiki, and Workflowy.
Nowadays it is important to properly organize our ideas, our to-do lists and any other notes related to our work or personal life. For this reason, programs like Logseq, which will allow us writing, organizing and sharing our thoughts, keeping our to-do list, etc… it is interesting to meet them.
Logseq is a platform for knowledge management and collaboration. This focuses on privacy, longevity and user control. The data will be saved in simple text files. The main objective of the program is to help us organize, create to-do lists and build a knowledge graph with the data we enter. In addition we can use existing Markdown or org mode files to simply edit, write and save any new notes.
Nor should we forget that can be a good open source alternative to Obsidian. By default, it is based on a local directory, but we can choose any cloud directory to sync via the file system.

As AppImage
Ubuntu users we can find an AppImage file in the project release page. In addition to using your web browser to download this file, you can also use wget from the terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) to download the latest version (beta) published today:
wget https://github.com/logseq/logseq/releases/download/0.6.0/Logseq-linux-x64-0.6.0.AppImage
Once the download is finished, there is only give the necessary permissions to the file. We just have to write:

Now we can start the program by double-clicking on the file, or by typing in the terminal:

As a Flatpak package
This program also can be found available at Flatub. If you use Ubuntu 20.04, and you still do not have this technology enabled on your system, you can continue The Guide that a colleague wrote in this blog some time ago about it.
When you can install this type of packages on your system, it will only be necessary to open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run the install command:
flatpak install flathub com.logseq.Logseq
After finishing the installation, there is only search for the application launcher in our system. We can also start it by typing the command:
flatpak run com.logseq.Logseq

For remove the Flatpak package from this program, in a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) there is nothing more to write:
flatpak uninstall com.logseq.Logseq
Although this program is still a beta version, while I tested it it worked as expected. It allows you to easily add tasks, link pages, add references, or check the knowledge graph of existing data..
The program is very simple to use, but if a user gets stuck at any point in the program, this has a documentation pretty clear. Users who want to know more about this software, or how to contribute to the project, can go to su official website and su repository on GitHub.
Excellent application with a lot of future, thanks to everyone who has made this application possible.
