In this article, we're going to look at a small selection of retro-inspired games for anyone to play and have a good time. These games and emulators can be used in any operating system that allows install snap packages.
Retro style games for Ubuntu
openra
OpenRA is a real time strategy game engine. This is a free, open source and cross-platform project that recreates and modernizes the classic strategy games Command & Conquer.

ScummVM
And motor SCUMM has been used to create adventure games for more than 30 years. SCUMMVM allows you to play them on your Gnu / Linux machine. More than 200 games are supported, including King's Quest, Police Quest, and Monkey Island. There is a game for all tastes.

Flare is a 2D action RPG open source. With an isometric view, Flare is reminiscent of Diablo, dating back 20 years.

With almost 7 years, Minecraft really shouldn't be called a 'retro' game. However, many 12-year-olds may not agree. Minecraft can consume a spare hour or an entire weekend as you gather resources and build your own world.

Twink
Don't let the name fool anyone! Minetest is a Open source and highly modifiable Minecraft style game with creative modes, multiplayer support, dynamic lighting, and an infinite world to explore and build.

Quadra Passel
Quadrapassel is a derivative of a classic russian descending block game. Locate and rotate the blocks as they fall, and try to fit them together. If you're looking for a challenge, Quadrapassel lets you increase the initial speed of the blocks or start the game with partial blocks in some of the rows.
