It's been almost a week since Ubuntu 18.04 was released and as usual, project leader Mark Shuttleworth has announced the nickname for the next version. Or at least that's what we should say, but we don't. Today We do not know the nickname of the next version nor has Mark Shuttleworth made reference to the Ubuntu 18.04 release. But, the mystery has not remained.
Although the leader has not made the nickname public, in the work repositories it has been seen how there was a reference to the nickname and not to the version, that is, a nickname that begins with the letter "C" continuing with the alphabet and with Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic Beaver.So, Ubuntu 18.10 that has to have the letter "C" will be Cosmic. At least the adjective of the animal is fixed, not so much the name of the animal. The animal in question is unknown although the possibility that it was «Canimal» was being considered., a fictional animal that would have little to do with the previous animals of the distribution, although many of the Ubuntu animals do not exist or are the product of legends and stories. But, Canimal is not a definitive nickname and it seems that it will not be, at least for the moment. While Cosmic if that will be the adjective, as pointed out by the repositories in archive.ubuntu.com.
Will Cosmic Canimal be the nickname of Ubuntu 18.10?
We look forward to the post from Mark Shuttleworth, the project leader who has always posted and announced the next version. But meanwhile we know that Ubuntu 18.10 will have a new kernel, possibly 4.16, a new community theme, which can install manually and possibly some program will be removed. Things that are already new, but that will surely be accompanied by more elements, however this version will be cosmic, although we hope it is not like Ubuntu 17.10 or that it will arrive late like Ubuntu 18.04. To you What do you think about Ubuntu 18.04? Do you think the new versions of Ubuntu will be as striking as the old ones? Will you continue with Ubuntu 18.10? What is your opinion?
